I finally got around to getting a boom, and I must say it is very nice so far! I did have one issue, with cleating. In the manual, it states "cleat the outhaul line at the cleat on the bottom of the boom." My cleat is on the starboard side of the boom. If I cleat the starboard side of the outhaul, it will not stay. To get the outhaul to tension, I had to use the port side; crossing from one side of the boom, past the track and opposite side of the outhaul and then into the cleat. Is my cleat backwards? In the wrong place? |

The cleat is correct. You need to be pulling towards the front through the cleat to get the line to pull the outhaul aft on the boom. The tail end is routed forward through a block and the aft to the bungee at the car again to take up slack. The line is routed at the aft block in the wrong direction. Untie from the car and pull out of the block. Run the line through the block from starboard to port... then to the car and tie off. |

Thank you--I now finally have my boom assembly properly set up! It came from the factory with the outhaul line going the wrong direction through the blocks and untied from the car. This caused much confusion that could easily have been avoided with a simple drawing included in the packaging. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
