Hi all,
I am new to the site and a new Bravo owner. I am wondering if anyone has removed (lowered) their mast while on the water and how difficult this might be? I live on a small lake that is attached to several large lakes via some bridges. They are all too low to get the mast of the Bravo under while it is raised. My plan is to lower the mast, paddle or be towed through the bride and then re-install the mast.

Any advise that you can provide would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Bob

Piece of cake! I keep my Bravo in a covered slip - the roof is too low to raise the mast underneath, so I push out and raise it beyond the slip, and drop it on the return before putting it back in. The mast is light, even when the float's on the top, and the boat is stable. When you drop the mast, you slide it forward under the tripod until you're on the other side, and the rear hull handle holds it in, then slide it back out and step it when you get to the other side (on any monohull, it would want to fall off the side of the boat, and you'd constantly have to wrangle it). Couldn't be easier.

I like the idea. For myself I don't need to do this but thanks for the confirmation that it can be easily done.

Thanks Doc17,

I installed the mast while on the water and I must say it was pretty easy. I think once I get my "sea legs" it will be even easier.

Now I just need to learn to right the boat when I flip it... What a chore that was!

Thanks for your help.

Bob
