I just acquired a 2005 Hobie Bravo (which I love) that had been sitting for at least 10 years. The furling part of the mast seems to be hard to turn. I have used a pressure washer (with soap and water) and a dry lube spray. It still seems to not work properly based on Youtube vidoes I have seen. If you have taken it apart and rebuilt or have fixed this problem another way, please let me know. Thanks.

Perhaps some penetrating fluid for a while before adding the lube? May not help at all but it's cheap to try before you have to take stuff apart.

The ball bearings could be damaged. Replacing them would require removing one of the collars. That requires removing (Drilling) 4 stainless rivets.

8010131 RIVET POP 3/16x3/8 PH-SS (4)

90610112 90610112 DELRIN BALL 3/8 DIA (PKG OF 12)

US$ 9.19

You need 48 bearings total 4 sets.
