Hi!
I've been a Hobie sailor for a few years, but this is my first time on the forums. I need help!!! Also this might be useful as a PSA for other Bravo sailors.
For the last couple of years, during the sailing season, I've left the Bravo moored in about 4 feet of water, with the mast up and the sail furled. It's a small, fairly calm lake most of the time. The PSA part of this is that you SHOULDN"T do that - take your mast down when you're not using the boat!
Last weekend I came up and found my mast in the water, and the tripod twisted out of shape. I have no idea how it happened, but I guess the couple of months of light waves was enough to shear the tripod screws in half!
Any idea whether this is fixable, whether the tripod itself needs to be replaced or whether I can just screw some new screws back in? My kids LOVE taking the boat out on their own, but I'm worried this happens again while one of them is out and someone gets hurt. Seems like a design flaw since I've left other boats moored for years without such problems.

Apart from that, this is the BEST boat for young kids. Lots of self confidence as they rig it and sail it on their own.

Here are some pictures of the damage, in case anyone can help with suggestions - can this be fixed?

Thanks all!

Charles
