Is there any way to tighten the mast rotator ball and keep it from turning
I live in fear that it wolk out and let the mast fall
I have used vice grips
silicone
5200
The ball still turns

December got the boat on the trailer ball would only move a little bit
My ball was not in danger of coming off
I will try Matt's idea to polish the base I might try some Loc tite blue

Polish the mast base cup and use some grease to make that connection slip easier.

Hm, I'd think that wrapping a largish sized wide rubber band around that shaft could keep it from slipping through the holes if the ball came off.

Unknowing to me, when I purchased the boat and was dry rigging in the yard my ball was loose. I raised the mast and lowered two times with no problem. I then lowered the mast with no support behind the rear trailer mast support and this caused an uplift on the ball and it came off....Scared the $#^&*($% out of us when the mast fell to the ground and luckily no one was hurt. I purchased a new ball and I used one of those Craftsman rubber band wrenches to tighten and it worked great. The ball is still tight and I check everytime before I hook the mast to it. I would not use vice grips as this would marr the surface.
