Well, I finally did it. Met a guy with a truck that could tow "Not-Two", my 21SC and headed for Baja for a week.

We were planning to go to Loreto, but finally settled on Bahia de los Angeles, it's only 400 miles from Tijuana, instead of 700.

The place is beautiful, water is clear, and fishing was plentiful (even though it's late in the year for big fish purposes).

We only sailed a couple hours a day, because of the short daylight, but that was enough to find a new beach.

The boat is absolutely perfect for Baja, only one should be careful not to overload it. The tent was fantastic.

Here are pictures of the trip (don't worry, they are very few...).

I want to do it again next year in September, with warmer weather and longer days.

If anybody is interested, it would be even more fun to do it with more than one boat. Any question, contact me at [email protected]

Beautiful trip! You should write up a trip report for the forum if you have the time.

Looks like a blast. How many days? Would love to see a flotilla event like this next year.

Thank you, Dan. I will write a report, mostly things that I learned and that would make the trip easier for future travelers.

Capt. Drew, we sailed for 6 days, but with a stop back at Bahia de los Angeles, (for showers and beer/ice replenishment) I would have gladly stayed longer. And yes, having more than one SC 21 would make it more fun (and safer).

Until soon,

Jordi

What type of sail do you have forward of the jib? Who made it, size? I don't have a spinnaker on my SE and love the idea of a bigger sail that is roller furling.

Sorry, I sold my 21SC about 10 years ago. After the SC I had a Getaway, and if were to do it again I would do it on a Getaway, it has about the same cargo capability and it's much easier to rig, launch, etc.
