Looks great Kenny, Maybe the paint that is still curing with add an additional holding power to your new decals.  From the looks of the bicycles you have there,you must have a good crew of girls to take sailing.My kids have embraced sailing from a young age(they didn't really have a choose  ). Take the girls out and their friends along once your comfortable with the boat and they will get hooked.Bill 404 21SE

Yeah many girls. 3 from my first and two from my wife. I do think the stickers will have no problem sticking! |

This new boat will be able to take out the whole family.On a 4th of July weekend,we took out a total of 19 people for a late night cruise to watch the fireworks.Most were kids but still 6 adults.We had a great time.  Bill 404 21SE |

got the hulls back together and on the trailer. Sanded and primed the top decks, so now just have to wait for time to get them painted.

Kenny, You done a great job restoring that 21SE! What was the condition of your bearing sleeves that helps your boat telescope in and out? I always leave my 21SE wide to saves on the setup time and keep the boat tight. Also,I did not want to damage that internal sleeve by telescoping the boat in and out. Bill 404 21SE and H16 |

Mine stays wide as well and all 24 sleeve bushings looked really good. One was loose on one end but still worked pit great. |

One thing I did notice today is that the comp tip rocks back and forth a little bit. I also see that the rear mast support is spaced out on the trailer to be on the comp tip. Is it worth pulling, cleaning up and re-setting? |

I'd redo the comptip joint if it's sloppy, and not rest it on the rear mast carrier on the trailer. Looking good.... |

Thanks Tom. I will re do. Not sure how the rear mast support on the trailer could be moved so the comp tip does not rest on it but I will figure it out. |

The comptip should be able to easily handle trailering loads, even if it rests on the aft mast stand. This is how we have trailered every one of our Hobies (at least six boats since the comptip was introduced in '86) and never had any issues. Otherwise, you will have 8+ feet of comptip sticking out behind your boat going down the road. If your comptip is loose, redo the glue and rivets that hold it in the mast, and you should be good. No need to change around your trailer geometry. Great looking boat by the way. I hope the paint holds up because it really looks sharp. sm |

finished top deck in steel gray. I ordered a set of gray screw in plates to replace the old white ones so that will finish it up. New sail should be done this week.

I used interlux bright side one step poly and followed their instructions. Sanded hulls down, primed, sanded then 3 coats while sanding between coats. I used interlux hull cleaners between the steps as well and brushing thinner to mix with paint. Pretty easy process just time consuming and long final curing times. |
