Hi everyone, I have an old H16 but recently my dad's gotten interested in a 21SC that's for sale, it has an outboard bracket and its even being sold with a 2HP air-cooled Honda engine it just has one problem, the main will slip out of the mast near the top, making reefing and disassembly almost impossible without tipping it over.

The sails seems fine so I'm assuming that the mast track is worn out, but there are no longer any parts; this is basically the deal breaker. Everything else can be serviced and me and my dad are quite good at fixing things (my H16 is a 72 and still works).

Do we buy it or just get a Getaway?

Instead of just bumping I'll post a video.

Maybe the next one could be on a 21SC.

First off, the comptip (composite upper mast section) is fiberglass, not carbon fiber.

I believe there should be aluminum sections of reinforced luff track at the locations where the head of the sail is positioned (i.e., at the top of the mast and at the reef point) to prevent the bolt rope from pulling out. Have you contacted Hobie to see if replacement parts are available?

Another option may be to flip the track end-for-end?
