Post subject:  Track slide build ?

I have been trying to build my own track slide (rollers on a mat to move the cat on the beach), it was not a success...All I had to go on was the HC 21 SC video starring Matt.
What did I do wrong ? I had 2 lengths of vinyl where I had 15 plastic bathroom tubing each sewn in. When testing this the vinyl was torn from the rollers where the underside of the boat made contact with it. Maybe I should have left the tubing uncovered and fastened underneath to the vinyl ? Is the boat supposed to slide on the "naked" plastic rollers ? Can somebody help me with this ?
A few pictures maybe ? Thanks !!!
Michel

Thanks for your answer : problem solved, I think ! I remove the vinyl from the PVC tubes an fix them at the bottom (facing away from the hull) to the vinyl...
Here is my Email address : [email protected]
A few pictures would help of course, again thanks !!

The vinyl holds the tubes in alignment, spaced and keeps them from sinking in the sand. So, yes slides directly on the plastic... vinyl on the underside.

I also keep my cat on the beach. I bought 4 x8 sheet of pvc lattace from lowes cut it in half and use that as a track. Its not really portable but for my home beach its perfect' just keep it under the boat.

Imagine a rope ladder... rungs are pvc or polyethylene pipes... "rope" part is a sheet of vinyl tramp material with grommets at "step" locations... rope thru pipes holds them at the step locations. Tramp material lays on the sand to keep the pipes above the sand. Otherwise they sink. If on hard ground... a simple rope ladder would work.

There is a scene in the 21SC promo video that shows it @ 2:29

I also tried to make beach slides - but they don't work very well.
Maybe they are too short and too narrow.
I think the boat slides well on them but I can't keep the boat on top of them.
Maybe more PVC?

These PVC pieces are tied onto the slotted tarp.

Restoring a SC for northern Great Lakes adventures. Lots of sandy beaches and no tides to assist beaching or re-launching. My boat didn't come with beach track slides but they sure would be useful! Can anyone provide the dimensions of the OEM slides? Length and width on the vinyl & spacing on the pvc slides and their diameter.

Appreciated.
