Not sure of rigging tension? Tight or semi loose. I'm on the third hole down on shrouds. Mast rotates no problem but seems a little loose. |

Pretty tight. With a boat that the luff of the jib rides on the forestay, rig tension needs to be tight. OF course, there is still a halyard for the jib, but it is dependent also on rig tension so the jib luff doesn't sag off. See if you can find the original rigging instructions somewhere-they call for tightening the rig after stepping the mast. I use an A-frame on the trailer with a winch to raise the mast that has more than enough mechanical advantage, so I've never had to tighten after stepping the mast. I have the forestay adjuster flush with the bottom of the furler-this was the way everyone on the Prosail circuit set theirs up too. |
