Hi Everybody,

I just recently purchased a 21SE that needs some work, but is overall in good shape. One thing that needs fixing is the comp tip. It broke off where the alum mast ends. I have both mast and comp tip, but she's a clean break between the two.

Now, I know I can buy a new one for $960 from Hobie (thanks Matt!), but I'd rather explore fabrication or repair before I shell out the cash for new.

Has anybody repaired this type of damage? Any ideas?

I have heard that 160 degree mast tip temp allows one to slide the existing "comp tip plug" out of the alum mast. Could one fabricate (not me- a professional fabricator) sleeve that would fit over both composite tip and alum base?

Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated. Pics are attached for your reference.
