Post subject:  Question about Comptips

I would like to run the halyards inside the mast. Before I drill any hole I would like to know whether the comptip is empty or filled with foam.

Is there enough room for it to run back down through the sail track?

I'm pretty sure it's foam filled...I should be able to tell you in about 2 weeks when I pull the mast head off of mine....

they are foam filled, not sure you'd be able to run them inside.... Can't it run back down the sail track like Karl mentioned

Post subject:  Filled? No.

CompTips are sealed with foam, but not filled. There is a large hollow space between the top and bottom foam plugs.

If there are plugs on the top and bottom of the comptip, running the halyards inside would make that area "floodable". Not good.

Thanks for the info and Happy New Year to all!
