Is it the standard rudder or did you replace it with the larger version? (if that is the larger - its not the right one, there is one without the notch in the front for it to fit properly) the part# is 81397101 |

Should be a simple steer of the rudder away from the eye as you lower it. As the rudder lifts it should clear the eye no problem. Boat looks to be assembled correctly. |

Thanks for help It worked Jbernier said that the rudder i have isnt for my kayak Will it still work or do i really need to change it I dont really want to send it back and wait for the replacment Thanks |

Jacques is correct... that is the wrong sailing rudder. Inflatables and the Quest require the older version # 81397101 as noted in the catalog. You might be able to cut away some of the "bump" on this one to get it fully down. |

The photo looked as though it would not go all the way down. If it does... and contacts the bottom of the rudder housing before touching the hull... no problem, you should be good-to-go. |
