I'm thinking of taking my i12 in the ocean and/or bays in NJ for stripers and blue fish. How do they handle in these conditions? What special care is required? How well do the standard mirage drive fins work?

Any experience would be most appreciated.

Harold

I've never used a Mirage drive in freshwater, you will be fine. Stop by the water hose and give it a good rinse and you will be fine.

what sunjammers said. No differerence than fresh water, just give it a good rinse. Rinse off the Mirage drives also and after dry, spray with a lubricant. Parts will rust if not washed off.
Always check tidal currents before you go. They can make a big difference in your enjoyment of the trip. Try to go with the flow.
