Can you put up the sail when you out in the water?

The sail pdf shows putting in stays etc seems like it is something you can't do when you are in the water. Like you need to be on land to set it up. The reverse question is can you take it down when you are out in the water and want to paddle awhile?
tks

Yes, that would be possible... up and down on the water.

Possible but not recommended?

I see no problem doing it. The inflatables are very stable. You can move around on the hull easily to get it set up.

I beg to differ and just posted a new question regarding whether the 12's are more stable. I found it impossible to take the sail down in the 9 once overpoered by the wind.

I noted the recommended condition range is 6-10. It is unrealistic to think winds may not exceed that once out sometimes and wonder how one can safely take down the mast under such conditions on the 9 as I am a seasoned sailor of 20 years and could not. (Albeit new to this rig)
