The strip of PVC that covers the steering line tubes split open about 2 inches. It is right where the kayak folds. The steering line tubes were exposed through the split. As I was preparing a repair patch I noticed a pretty tight kink in the tubes. The steering still works fine but I am concerned this may develop into a problem (because of repeated folding).

Is there any history of problems in this area? Can the tubes be replaced if a serious problem does develop?
