Post subject:  Where is the water coming from?

I have had my i12s for several months now and have no regrets. Something I have recently noticed:

When I complete a trip I inflate the kayak on my garage floor and wash it. Eash time it ends up with several gallons of water inside. I have the front hatch closed, and the small vent screwed in as well. I also close the three air valve covers. Where could I be taking on water? If I pick the boat up from either end you can hear water gushing the other direction.

Thanks.

Several gallons from washing? Not from use? I'd look in the cockpit area. May be a bad scupper tube?

I actually think you are right. How hard is that to fix?

Not hard I believe, but we may have to do that here. You can ship to us? We can send a call tag.

Engineers feel you can do it / dealer can do it.

Matt is there a way for me to remove the tubes and check for damage? Also I am going to plug them and wash again to see if I take water on.

I'm pretty handy so if I have the necessary equipment and instructions I should be okay.

Thanks.

Okay Matt that is the problem. I shined a flashlight into the holes and I can easily see that both tubes are not connected. My concern is how do they stay connected in the first place? Even when fully inflated the bottom of the kayak is very loose.

Anyway, I can see the tops of the white tubes and if I move the tubes around I can see inside the main chamber. No doubt this is where the water is entering.

Thoughts?

There was some suspect material at some point. New tubes will fix it. email to [email protected] for the tubes, glue and instructions.
