I am the proud owner of a i14T but am bamboozled about the role and use of the bungee cord and hook on the rear right hand side of floor near the mirage drive. Doesn't seem to be labelled or discussed in any of the user manuals or sales materials.

I've used it to tie the kayak to the safety rails of a pier when going a shore. Works well!

I've been told it's a safety line for the mirage drive and that the plastic hook slips onto the pedal shaft. Sounds right but doesn't seem secure and could easily slip off if the kayak were to tip. Not that I've worked out how you tip an inflatable, they're so stable!!! Lol.

I would have thought a loop cleat screwed on the rear base of the drive and a clip similar to the seat clips would have been a simplier and more secure solution.

Would appreciate your advice and thoughts about the proposed modification.

Cheers

Hook to drive leg to keep the fins up, when beaching, transporting, etc
