Thanks for posting the pics Frank! Now that you've had it running for a few months, anything new to report about the performance? Still keeping the motor stationary & steering with the rudder? How's spring fishing in SW Florida? |

You are welcome, steering with the rudder only depends on wind and the current, the set up works good for me. Going to southwest Florida April 26, the fishing should be good with the hot weather. Take care -------Frank |

Hey Frank, Did you get a chance to try the 30lb Minn Kota yet? I'm on the fence between getting an 18lb Watersnake or a 30lb MK. Price works out about the same for me with shipping & discounts. The MK seems to be over twice the weight of the Watersnake (15lb vs. 7lb) though. Curious if the performance difference is worth the extra weight, especially in wind and current? Thanks! |

Yes I did, only for a short time, no really difference for me, did not like the extra weight, the 18 lb Watersnake is now made in China, not as good quality as the older one were, over all I am happy with the Watersnake. Take care----Frank |

Thanks Frank. I went ahead and got an 18lb Watersnake. Remarkable how much lighter & smaller it is than the MK 30lb. It does look pretty "cheap" by comparison to the MK though. The prop design seems to be the biggest thing holding the performance back. Now if Kipawa or someone else would only make a better aftermarket prop... Now to mastermind my mount... |
