CA - Saddlebag Lake is the highest Lake in CA that you can drive to and launch your boat. I'm told that it's also the highest in the U.S. that you can drive to. ELEVATION 10,087'. Paddle to the other side, beach the kayak, and hike the Twenty Lakes Basin - an easy 5 miles - the most beautiful hike there is. One lake after another, after another........ This lake is a little too small for our Hobie 16, but would be perfect for a Hobie Adventure Island. Saddlebag Lake is just 3 miles off Hway. 120 in Upper Yosemite. Camp nearby or stay in a lodge. Plenty of hotels in Nearby Mammoth Lakes. Other great lakes for Kayaking/sailing near Mammoth in the Eastern Sierras: Tenaya, Tioga, Mono, June, Gull, Silver, Convict, Mary, Twin, Crowley.....
