Big water, and lots of big wakes. The easiest launch is south along the shore at Baldwin Beach. From the paved parking lot, roll your boats across the sand to the water. It is about 3.5 miles from the beach into the back of Emerald Bay. You can pedal under the tourist dock and beach your boats. Take a walk around the Vikingholms Castle; find good restrooms just above the beach area.

This photo was taken on the east side of Fannette Island. The small stone castle was acually a "teahouse" build for Mrs. Wright in 1929. The water in Tahoe is incredibly clear; when it is smooth the depths are a little spooke to see.

I've camped on the east side of Emerald Bay and they have a trail down to the water. It's not the easiest, but it put you in the water right in Emerald Bay. If you're heading to Lake Tahoe, a must stop/kayak is on the east side in the granite boulders. I believe it is Sand Harbor that you can put in, then head south.
