Chaos Dave
I use half the paddle and a T handle and put the handle under the front hatch bungee and the blade through the normal holder from the forward side.

I don't quite get it, the blade goes onto the tramp?

I bungee my paddle out toward the Amas so I can use the whole tramp.

A short tiller extender (2-3 feet) is all you need on the starboard tramp. If you are tall, you can reach the control by hand when you hike the port side.

does hobbie do such an extender?

They will, for the new models..

There are many threads here that cover making your own. Simplest thing to do is drill a hole in the flat "paddle" part of the handle and use a carabiner attached to a short wooden or aluminum pole.

I use a small extendable handle that I scarfed from a lightweight window squeegee.

You don't want to put much force on the handle, so no need for overkill here.

An extender handle like aka brace ball mount would be nice.
