Looking pretty sweet. How's the flu going? Knocked it on the head yet?

Yeah, I'm already thinking about an overnighter down at Bobbin Head. :D

If straps are the only concern you can simply replace them with webbing and plastic clips such as Hobie use, which are available from Clarke Rubber stores in Australia. If need be just add an extra strap in the centre of each tramp to beef them up...Pirate

I've taken your advice and fitted 1" side-release buckles, like the Hobie ones Pirate. They seem to hold up OK, but I am amazed they support my weight. The tie-down straps I used initially feel really solid, but the buckles are aluminium (I think), so plastic would be better for salt water. I might also add an extra strap in the centre, as you suggest, just to be on the safe side. I am planning to take my (fearful) wife out for her maiden sail on one of these and I don't think it will be a good start if she gets dumped in the middle of the bay  .

I have a set of Kayaking Bob's sprayskirts, but no wave deflector.

I thought Kayaking Bob's SpraySkirts were so great, I just bought them and I haven't even ordered my TI yet!
