After peddling, paddling and sailing a Revolution for several years and then renting an AI last summer I have finally succumbed and added an AI to my fleet.

What essential pimping should I undertake to make sailing the AI more pleasurable.

For a single day of sailing what spare parts and tools should I carry to prevent any minor issues or breakages ruining my day.

And what additional spare parts and tools would I require to cover a week of sailing on a remote island where I plan to use the AI to its full potential.

Cheers
Grant

And here's a list of some posts with the tools needed, and other discussions: http://www.kayakingbob.com/forums

Those are some useful sites, Bob. Well done.

Thanks guys!

Each time I'd setup a new boat for myself or a friend, I'd have trouble remembering all that I had done before. So the last time, I started a list and took pictures each step. I've meant to add descriptions to go with each picture, but just haven't gotten to it yet. :)

When both the Hobie forum, and then KFS (Kayak Fishing Stuff) changed their forum setup and I lost my favorite posts, I started searching and added links on my site, There are many more good posts out there by Roadrunner and many others that I have yet to re-find. Mine were the easiest since I just searched for me.

Also, Matt has done a good job grouping many at: http://www.hobiecat.com/community/viewforum.php?f=21

Never go anywhere without a range of cable ties in different sizes. It's amazing what you can jury rig with these.
