I think we would all agree that the cockpit on a Hobie AI can get pretty congested with drive, plugs, daggerboard, ropes and legs. I don't know if you ever get a little claustrophobic or not, but I've found that by repositioning some of my gear especially the daggerboard and ropes, so that it's all out of the way but close at hand, I find that I'm enjoying my sailing even more ( if that's possible ).

On a recent trip, these mods got the nod from the blokes who suggested I should put this on as a post.

If you have any better ideas, we are all open to hearing about them.

if your furling line is tied to the main sheet through that block, how do you furl the main sail? is your furling line really long?

Hi Sterling. The fuling line is just the standard length line that comes with the AI. If you decide to do this mod, you will find that when the main sheet is fully out, the ropes hang down in the water. I suppose if you are anal about drag, you could find a way to clip then out of the way but I don't bother. You're right with lengths though Sterling. In furling the sail, when the knot hits the sheeve block, there is about a foot of unfurled sail remaining. Again, it isn't really a problem and I haven't bothered about getting a longer furling line.

I don't know how you're going to do it with your 2 furling lines though ?

What happened to the YouTube video? It says 'error' when I try to play it.

Played OK for me.
Must try that pulleyblock idea for the sheet.
Nice work Slaughter! 8)
