You can't use the fitting in the top picture - the hole it would thread into has to be incorporated into the mold.
A couple people already pointed out that you can just wrap the leash around the aka.
If I were to puchase a new TI, I would not only add the pad eye I would also add the button that the older TI's had that secured the seat in the upright position. It makes a perfect attachment point for rear aka safety lines.
I don't have long arms but was able to install the pad eye without the added expense of purchasing the "rigging bullets". I super glued the nylock nuts onto my washers, put needle nose vice grips on the nuts and could just barely reach the mount point while a helper with a screwdriver tightened the screws.
