It's weird hey. I don't know any Australians that don't like Vegimite, and I don't know any non Austaralians that do. How could we be so right
But as far a discusting stuff ya stick in ya mouth, Vegimite and Spam pale into insignificance compared to Dr Pepper. 'What's go'n on there ?'

When you go to Hawaii, try the Poi - you'll have the same feeling about our Bra's who are from there.

... do non-native Hawaiian's like Poi ?

Most everyone's had something like Poi, it tastes like the paste you ate when you were in kindergarten! :o :)

Actually, the purple Poi rolls are wonderful.

Poi is great! Good thing to have on board. Mostly for repairing rips in the sail or tramps. But edible too.

And it's one thing that will NOT come up easily in heavy seas.

Another impressive Slaughter mod! 8)
So that's just one of your winter mods.

Refinements still required on the camera mount. I'd feel inferior if I went out on the water with a shorter pole than you.
But once it's finished, I think that between the 2 of us, we should be able to capture ever camera angle known to man.

Don't think you want to go that far... you know, there's this minature camera on some sorta flexible hose, and then a doctor tells you to bend over... well, so I've heard, anyway!

Yep it's called a 'Top and Tail'. Know all about them, lost a rudder pin once. Remind me to post the photos.

Waterproof stereos - a dream of mine.

And after several drowned radios, still a dream.

Finally decided to buy a triband VHF w FM radio. The audio quality was so bad I ditched that idea too.

I donno, there's just something about salt water and ipods that doesn't mix.

If you are interested this is what I got. I have tried it in the bath and it works great!!

Ipod is safe in the bag and the headphones are cheap; so if they last the summer season then ok 8)

What is the impact on performance of the flexiboom?

Post subject:  Re: Flexi-Boom Design

As a newbie to Kayak sailing and non boom sails I would love to hear how the performance is increased (as above post) and also as to when if I did this mod I should use it. ie under what conditions, light, heavy, only if only used full downwind run, etc..

Thanks

The speed back to shore did definately improve timo. I didn't measure it via. GPS but when the wind picked up a bit, I found I could hold onto and ride a wave with far less paddling effort with the flexiboom attached.
