I have purchased some 3/8" shock cord to upgrade the ama bungees. The original 1/4" cord is knotted in the threaded fitting. It does not look like there will be enough room for a 3/8" shock cord knot to fit into the fitting and then thread back into the ama. I'm wondering what others have done for this upgrade. :?: I'd like to have this figured out before I go drilling out those threaded fittings.

You can drill it out a bit. Or use a soldering iron to get a smooth edge. These fittings are cheap and easy to replace, so don't sweat it.

Stretching the bungee with tweezers or such will help feed it through, then it's easy. Burn the ends when you're done.

Have you checked out the threads on double bungees? I would advise doing this, especially if you own a TI.
