right !!!
i'm not a virgin any more !!!
first trip out today... went great.
got the hang of my ai between the piers at roker in about half an hour, then ventured out for another half.
came back in for my fishing gear and had a great day hit 11.2 mph  ...well chuffed.
.....i think my mast reciever needs adjustment though,
i can furl the sail alright but when i'm pulling it out it seems stiff, when i took the mast out i can see that it has been rubbing on top of the disk which holds the bearings.
any ideas?
i looked inside the hull and can see a V bar with turnbuckles and locknuts.
the locknuts were loose.
am i looking in the right place, and how do i remedy this?
thanks in advance,
thebarber

I adjust mine so the mast reel just clears the top deck, even under pressure. That way the reefing line can't work it's way (as easily) under the spool when the line is loose during light winds. Then sock the nut up tight.

Think of it as a long turnbuckle. You turn the long nut like shaft to adjust the height of the deck, then tighten the nut to it when set. Adjust both sides.

did it yesterday, the mast now spins freely but the gap is still bigger at the front of the mast plate than the rear.
is the mast meant to be slightly tilted?
i also went around the yak checking bolts and locktighting them as i went, it's supprising how many were loose.
