Errr, I think she's more likely to realise she's the one who's been taking one (or many) for the team until the hakas arrived.

Timber ??? Aluminium ??? Fellas, I come from Steel City so If I were to use anything else but Steel, I’d be tarred, feathered and sent out of town ( go back a few pages for my version ).

I tried mine out for the first time last weekend and I must admit that I only built one because everyone else was doing it and I felt left out of the longest thread in the history of internet forums. But I have to agree with you Stringy, that this will be one of the first items packed when I go for a sail. Love it. I thought I was quite happy at sitting in my usual seat but seeing it all from another angle makes it all even more enjoyable. I noticed that you clip yours on over the top of your tramps. I do the same mainly because I can still store stuff and I can put the Haka way out near the Aka bend and have a bit more confidence that I’m not going to go down through the hole.

SNIP

Sorry Slaughter, just a small point of order. While this thread is no doubt a giant in the Hobie forum world, it is but a blip in time compared to a thread detailing the building of a huge 22 foot wingspan model B36 bomber over on RCGroups.

Just think of the Brownie points when you give her the sad wet puppy look and she realises you are "taking one for the team"!

Tony,
I wish that was true, but with her as my wind and sprayshield sailing the Oasis for 3 years and now the TI for 2 years I get no sympathy at all...go figure! :?
In fact Chrisj is spot on with his comment!

Mate, I agree. The haka and tramps make a good combination giving you the best storage options. On the AI the haka allow you to paddle with the tramps deployed as well. I've sat on them with my legs dangling over the front aka and used the double paddle to launch at the Koolewong shallow boat ramp. Works great!
BTW- thanks for coming up with a more industrial looking haka than mine and being made of steel is the icing on the cake! 8)

Yeah, that is until corrosion kicks in. I can't see a comparison really between my hunk of foam, cable tied to a rusty tin can, having the longevity or comfort of your Nick Scarly chase lounge.

Where did you get the the AKA mounts for your rod holders? I've been looking all over the place for something that will attach to the AKA's and allow me to use my Scotty Mounts

I tried that but its just not that clean. The one's in the previous post look to be removable.

The one in the picture is a Railblaza mount. I believe they are now available in the US, if that's where you're posting from.

I hear ya. mine came out pretty clean tho.

i dont think the mounts are removeable because they clamp onto the AKA's, but they are much cleaner.

these guys here in the Us now have them as i found out earlier this week.
http://www.yak-gear.com/RAILBLAZA.html

Those are the new Railblaza's (StarPort / RailMount 32-41mm Combo (Black)

Try West Marine.

Don't order the 150mm extensions for your rods. They are too weak.

Correct. Railblaza has their own.
