Post subject:  PVC above hull ama supports

I usually transport my AI inside my van with the amas & sail on top of hull. I made up some 11/2"pvc posts to hold amas in place. They worked out well, amas stay in place, easy to load, remove, they don't bounce around when wheeling down beach to set up.

Front support bar velcros to cross member & stores in front hatch when not used. Rear support is just slipped under existing bungee and can be easily removed or rotated down when not used. I kept the centerline distance between posts same as the scupper carts posts so cart can just slip into the amas support posts while on water. Total cost less than $10.

:D That looks really neat, your AI looks like new, well cared for!

That's a really good mod Bob. Simple and effective. All you need to do now is start up a '2012 Invention of the Year' thread.

Clever, Bob.

Similar to what Tony B came up with a few years ago, for an Ama Rack. This one inserts in the mast receiver.
