Using two old tillers from my son´s optimist.
The female part base was change to use a screw and fix it with our Ti handle.
The second tiller was fix it at the end via rivets.

Yesss! This is exactly the solution I was going for also. And I was thinking about how to adjust this to the steeringhandle.

No you are coming with the answer! Super!

Btw, what kind of bolt did you use into the steeringhandle (black one)? I know it should be a 1/4" but I can't find such a "bolts here. And it looks like you did not use that either. Did you use a normal M6?

Thanks,

Remko

Remco;
Well, the solution and that preliminary stuff to fit stick on the handle is for checking only.
After the first sailing with the Aka bench (also you can see inside the same web page; abisal12) I would like to comments a few things about it:

- changed the screw (as you say, it is a normal 1/4 you can find in any DIY) (a bit more difficult here in EU!). I fitted a smaller one in order to take one of those two nuts you can see together (to reduce high)
- The final set will be with a wider metal base below the black plastic ( in order to take the stick in and out easier). that metal base will be as wide as the black plastic one or even wider.

Working well on the first sail together with the aka bench.
All together conclusion is that with low wind it is much better going in the normal seats (to wet only two hulls).
Same times you will need the two hands as there are two stick together, but it should be no problem at all.

I will load a few photos and video soon.

I´m just looking for a US 1/4 screw made in steel inox and with a flat head in order to simplify everything. In this way we will need only a good base made for example in hard plastic resin 4 or 5 mm thick(or duralumin), fit the flat screw in it and then fit the black pastic from the optimist stick with two small screws or rivets.that´s all...
I don´t know if explanation for the handle join is clear enough...
