Thanks to Nohuhu I know ‘haka’ means seat and as I've often posted here before, adding haka to an Island is the best mod I’ve done.
But haka can be more than just a seat. Captain Chaos and Chekika have shown that they make great tables for camping.
Here is another use for them that increases their versatility. They make a great base for a gear trolley –just add a cart.
We recently tried to drag our fully laden TI up and over a very soft sandy beach. It was impossible to move it with all our gear aboard. So we emptied it and used the haka as a stretcher to carry the gear separately. Once empty the TI was easy to move.
Converting the haka to a trolley makes it simpler to ferry gear than the two person 'stretcher'. It doesn’t require any extra equipment either and once everything is carried to the waters edge it’s easy to convert it back to a seat. Just remove the cart.
I added some aluminium bar top and bottom of the haka. 25mm holes were cut into the bar at cart post distance, creating a scupper like support for the plug in cart.

Stringy - that's bloody brilliant :!: :D
I love the multi-function/integrated solution to a very real problem. :D
You probably mentioned it somewhere but can you tell me where you got your metal hakas??

Thanks Mickey. It should make packing for those extended camping trips easier and if you take a cart with you then easier for setting up at the campsite.
The details of the ladder 'expedition' haka can be found on pages 10 -14 of the haka thread. If I was starting from scratch though I would go with the Versiclad Panelink haka I use on the TI. It is very light and after a year of use the powdercoating still looks new. Details on pages 16,18,33.
If you are considering haka then the haka thread from start to finish is a must read. So many varieties and materials used. I put together a short Haka tribute video which will give you some idea of the different types of haka forum members have come up with.

Let me second that Mickey - I really appreciate the time and trouble that members on this forum take to not only share their ideas but to painstakingly document them in pictures, words and video for the benefit of others who they may never meet.
The humor is pretty good too

So raise your glasses/bottles/cans to Stringy and all of the contributors to this forum (too many to mention all names and I'm way too slow at typing lol) - it makes a huge difference to relative newbies like me - THANKS guys (and gals) !!
:P

Thanks Barry -much appreciated. :)
It's a shame I'd finished that haka video just before you posted your groundbreaking folding haka.
I've learnt so much from these forums over the years. It's good to be able to give something back.

I wondered how you get all that gear from the car to the boat on our trips. Hair dryer, popcorn maker, chocolate fountain, etc. You are certainly the king of gadgets

Nice video mate. Good to see so many different, top class designs.

Stringy,

Thanks Stringy.
I will find someone to help me copy what you started. With few changes, that will be perfect...
