That hiking stick is probably the best accessory yet! Pros: No more steering with your toes! Cons: No more bragging that you were out there sailing right on the edge of sanity steering with just your toes. And yes, NOHUHU, I also think it's worth pointing out that they chose to introduce RED and not some other colour for the TURBO fins. Some of us know exactly why they did that! |

Why, why red? Because Hobie knows that fishermen will refuse to buy yellow, because yellow is bad luck for fishing. Keith |

Now that this stick has been released I'm wondering when when we'll see the genuine Hobie 'Haka' and hiking out Hobie 'Footstraps'? |

NOHUHU wrote: No new splashproof handles? I believe Matt said in another post that they were having trouble with the original supplier getting them done, and a new supplier is having trouble with making them up to spec in terms of UV wear.

It's good to see the new hiking stick, but I've actually grown quite attached to steering with my foot. It leaves me with one hand for the mainsheet and one for hanging on when hiking out. The trick for me is wearing my Vibram Five Fingers shoes. I can grip the handle with them almost as well as I can with my hand. |

Chris, For some reason I always think of an apes foot when I see those Vibrams. Is that why you like your Papaya (read banana) coloured yak so much? |
