Not sure if this has been done before, but what the heck!
I was looking for a way to prevent the rear of the AMAS from dragging on the ground
while wheeling my A.I from my house to the local beach. One of the simplest solutions
was to use a webbing strap to lift-and-support the rear of the AMAS.
I used a 2.2m length of 50mm nylon webbing and added a heavy-duty side-release clip
and a couple of webbing slides to keep the excess neat and tidy.
It sits over the rear of the hull, then each end goes around the outside of the AMAS, then
over the top (threading under the AKAS) to be clipped together on top of the hull.
I've used it on a number of occasions and it works very well. It certainly helps to remove
the strain on the knuckle joints (due to the AMAS hanging off them).
Obviously this design can also add a bit of extra stress on the front knuckle-joints, so
I'm going to make up another strap to go around the front of the AMAS.
I also have a another design, which uses lengths of dowel to provide the support, but it's
not quite as nice as this one.
