I made a double rod-holder for my Sport and Revo ages ago, so thought I'd have a go at a similar model for the A.I. All I wanted was a simple couple of tubes to carry the rods while not in use. So I just used a few short lengths of 40mm PVC pipe, along with two 45 degree 40mm junctions, and a bit of that horrible, blue PVC glue... Here's the result: Like the ones I made for my other yaks it slots into one of the the moulded-in rod-holders behind the seat, and is a two-in-one holder. I only made one, but a pair of them would be handy if you have extra rods to transport. The added complexity with the A.I. is that you have a sail and rope whipping around behind you and it's always a risk that a rod will be flicked out the the holder by the sail. I did my best to angle the holders to (hopefully!) prevent this, but time will tell. The rods are leashed, but I'd prefer them not to be dunked! Cheers, Mike. |

Nice thing about PVC, you can screw it, saw it or scrap it if it doesn't work out. What I can say, though is "if it CAN snag, it WILL snag!" Let us know how the rocket launchers work out. |
