Hey all, after a few months with the new Island I have made a few mods of which I don't think I will change. Very nice boat, well done Hobie, we asked for or modded and you implemented them into the new design. A flat bottom to get it planning has got to be the next change. Planes now but could go better with wide flat surfaces, chimed and aero out riggers for less speed loss in waves. Hope you enjoy what I have done, works very well.

Love ya setup man, still a little unsure how the rigging runs though.

Good luck with that wishlist spook. For the vast majority of owners, the TI does not need any major modifications.I would have thought you were already able to get higher than 15mph based on your AI experience

It's not a wish list, it has been done and improves the boat. FOR ME ???? This is the 2015 Hobie Island. ???? it improves the control and exposure of the sail for down wind and reaching rather than having the sail half exposed to the wind. Adding control lines and moving the controls closer to me improves MY experience with the boat of which is used every weekend. ???? and your an Aussie what is this MPH, the new AI's do over 22 kph ??? so far.

That is the wishlist I was referring to.

As the forum is largely US-centric, I used mph.
