I'd like to install an attachment point for an aft Mirage Drive leash on the 2015 TI. The forward seat has a pad eye on the bulkhead forward of the drive well. I'd like to put the attachment point in a similar location in the aft location. The leash kit came with the hardware in the photo. Which should I use and what's a good way to install? I wouldn't install it. No need to drill any more holes than necessary. Just wrap the leash around the aka brace and secure to itself. |

First thing I did was install a pad eye with home made aluminum backing plate. Used Yak Attack 10-32 rigging bullets to get it there. |

I don't have any problems putting a hole in these boats. The holes can be caulked if necessary. Screws seal the hole. I do put them as high as possible, and, be sure any bolts or penetrating screws are not rubbing on any internal lines. Keith |

You can't use the fitting in the top picture - the hole it would thread into has to be incorporated into the mold. A couple people already pointed out that you can just wrap the leash around the aka. If I were to puchase a new TI, I would not only add the pad eye I would also add the button that the older TI's had that secured the seat in the upright position. It makes a perfect attachment point for rear aka safety lines. I don't have long arms but was able to install the pad eye without the added expense of purchasing the "rigging bullets". I super glued the nylock nuts onto my washers, put needle nose vice grips on the nuts and could just barely reach the mount point while a helper with a screwdriver tightened the screws. |

I found that a clip attached to some nylon cord tied around the aka brace works great too. |
