Great beginning of some aerial footage of 5 AI's starting out on a adventure along the coast of Australia.

It can be seen on HULU documentaries, about 4 movies down on the right.

Well how is that for incongruous.
(Gee I like the English language, pity you Yanks don't speak it :P )

An Australian scene that brings up the error "can only be viewed within USA".
I suddenly don't like hulu.

Hey Salty, I can purchase on line and it looks like a worthwhile movie.
The Hobie also appears in the trailers.

Oh, I can speak the English language, we Yanks enunciate, (another great English word), our words distinctly, properly and don't garble up the dipthongs like you blokes down under do !
I've always imagined that this was caused by the scorchies of the brain that result from the intense amount of sunshine you receive because you're on the lower half of the planet.
Image

Perhaps, it may also be from the great beer that is manufactured down there.
Anyhow, to return to the original subject, the real pity is that it's not just a scene from the movie that is Australian, the majority of the movie was filmed there and you can't see it on HULU.
Cheers, big ears !

She's a beauty for sure ! 8)
It almost breaks your heart in the movie when a Japanese fisherman on a boat starts to beat on her legs while she's on her surf board with the tail end of a harpoon because the group is interrupting the killing of dolphins in a cove.
It just makes you come out of your seat trying to throttle him on the T.V.

A major influence on the Aussie accent is the need to keep the lips closed as much as possible to avoid swallowing flies!

Just a follow up to this movie.

Lorraine Garnier from Hobie sent an e-mail out to the members of the Hobie Islands Owners of San Diego and Orange Counties about another movie put out by the same people who filmed "Minds in the Water" that was filmed off the coast of California this time named "The TransparentSea Voyage.”

I've got to hand it to you Aussies to do a great job to showcase the Hobie Islands in such a fantastic way !

Quote:
Dear Hobie Island Owners of San Diego and Orange Counties,

We could not be more proud than to share with you the movie premiere of “The TransparentSea Voyage.”

Filmed along our own coastlines – from Gaviota to San Diego, this movie highlights our local ocean environment while sailing Hobie Adventure and Tandem Islands.

This crew of sailors, surfers, artists and musicians will wow you with their dedication and commitment to make this trip a success.

Each movie showing will also include live music from the Australian Band, “Band Of Frequencies” who also voyaged with the crew and wrote a song a day of rich beautiful music.

There will also be Q & A with the director and cast after the screening, a Raffle and Silent Auction too.

Each screening is a benefit to support Surfers for Cetaceans (S4C,) who are raising awareness of our oceans and the creatures living there.

The TransparentSea Voyage showings are;.

Thursday, Aug 21st – La Paloma Theatre, Encinitas at both 7:00pm and 9:00pm

Saturday Aug 23rd – Birds Surf Shed, SD at both 7:00pm and 9:00pm

Sunday Aug 24th – Dana Point Ocean Institute starting at 5:30pm (one show only)

Your wrong about the sun shine Salty.
We are about to finish our winter and looking forward to some sun and warmth.
Of course now my riding mates are complaining about swooping magpies so spring is around the corner.
As long as it is warm next week when I spend 10 days in a holiday house on the Gippsland Lakes.
I haven't been there before but it looks like plenty of places to explore in the TI.
Gee, I love this country :)

If it wasn't for the 1,200 km I would be there too.

I hope to be retired too, within 12 months and have plenty travel time. :)

Will also be able to catch up with Rob who is back from his sting in Afghanistan.

I know why Salty and others will not be joining us. Google can't calculate distance or route

Hey Hey Hey !! Just because I don't have a Traverse Board with a Compass Rose for direction mounted on my Hobie, use a Chip Log with knots in the rope to measure speed and a sand filled hour glass to measure time like you guys probably do doesn't mean that I can't do dead reckoning with the best. :P
Holy dooley, I used to be in the Boy Scouts when I was a youth ! 8)
However, I sure do wish I could trailer my AI over there to join you all for an adventure in the Lucky Country with beautiful surroundings that you call home.

 On a side note, Google does state: 7,442 miles Distance from California to Myall Lakes National Park
I'm just saying !

Don't rely on those hour glasses.
I got up this morning to find the Mrs cooking my usual soft boiled eggs.
She was still just wearing only the T shirt she wears to bed.
Said to me "You have to make love to me right now."
Thought all my Christmases had come at once so I obliged on the kitchen table.
Asked her what brought that about and she said the glass egg timer had broken.

Anyway, you have no excuse not to sail over in the TI and join us for a sail now.
How far did you say?
Nah, shouldn't take long and would certainly have the distance record.

It sounds like you've got a great excuse to buy another hour glass !
Maybe one that's not too expensive in case the little lady gets in the kinky mood to break it. :D

Thanks for the invite but I'll have to hold off on the sail down under to "Walla'borongamala" so I can wonder along with the rest of you, "where the bloody hell am I ?"
It looks like I can't get enough vacation time off from work to do the distance.
But, it sounds like something to put on my bucket list. 8)
