The video was shot mainly from an AI and shows how well the TI performs in 20-25 knot winds and a moderate sea swell.

Notice the TI modification shown at the beginning of he video, which allows a single sailor to operate the TI from the rear seat.
Also notice the Barber hauler which has been added for improved downwind performance.

Towards the end of the video, the bowman in the TI drops his camera in the sea, fortunately it was tied to the boat, so we did not need to throw him in after it.

Thanks guys, it was a blast to film. I nearly wet myself in the sequence starting at 1:32, I thought I was going to be rammed.

Awesome vid guys, absolutely loved it. You put a new spin on the expression "sailing over the top of someone". More please! :D

Need some Tramps on those boats so you can Hike out. Great vid though!! Makes me wish I had someone near me with an AI or TI to go out with. I would like to see a video of a AI race between 2 similar weight people in 2 similar rigged AI's but one reefed and one full sail hiked on tramps.

Keep shooting guys!!

MMM Cod and chips.... MMMM

Cool video! Lots of fun to watch!!

It's a bit hard to tell the performance difference between the two boats when the sails are reefed in. How do we know that the slower boat couldn't have gone with a bit more sail? And I agree with ElementAI, you've got to try the tramps!

But great video! It really shows how much fun these boats are!!

Thanks for all the comments, it was fantastic fun making this vid,

Your absolutely right, the way we did most of the shots was that the AI was reefed in slightly more than the TI. The AI was then steered on a straight course and the TI was sailed round the AI.

But there were a couple of side by side shots where we both had the same sail area up, & the TI is definitely considerably faster than the AI. It is an excellent idea to try the tramps out tho'.

BTW Adie, the guy in the bows of the TI, who dropped his camera in the water, had never been in a sailboat before in his life. All the sailing is being done by Peche in the stern.

You guys were screaming out there. Very cool.

You might have the achieved the fastest speed records to date on a Tandem. Were you able to obtain any GPS speed numbers?

no GPS I am afraid, we are still saving up for those. So we have no idea how fast we were really going, but the whole trip felt like minutes, we were having so much fun.

Tim,
What KBob said! 8)
I've just shown your video to my wife so she'll know what to expect in those conditions.
I would have reefed the sail a bit though!
PS-What, no chips? Very un-British like!
