My wife needed her nature fix yesterday, so she stayed on the Revo all day while I sailed the TI. This vid is mostly underwater shots she took while poking around in a sheltered area on the Gulf side, but there are three wide shots of me sailing close to her. Still no oil - the water is pristine - but nobody is down here. Every motel and resort has vacancies, a number of businesses are closed and not many boats out. We've been here since Monday and have only seen 3 sailboats in all that time - big ones that are a mile or more out from shore. No smaller craft sailing closer to shore - we're it. We've seen a small number of fishermen, but nothing like I was expecting. It's like we have the entire place to ourselves and it has some of the best sailing I've ever encountered - lots of steady wind, little in the way of chop, no wakes, no other boats to avoid, and lots of variety to keep me interested.

Mitch; Fantastic video tell your wife that’s she is great with the camera and editing. What is she using to hold the camera for the underwater shots?

Great job on that video! 8)
I hope they manage to stop the oil reaching this area. What a tragedy if they don't. :(
The TI solo looks very impressive. Can't wait to try that myself.
Thanks for posting! :)

She's using her hand in all the underwater shots so far. We have yet to get sophisticated with anything else. :D

Thanks for that Mitch and wife. Really enjoyed it. Clarity around the mangroves looks pretty good at the moment. What's the likelyhood of the oil reaching this area ?

No oil at the moment, but it may come in the weeks or months ahead. That's partly why we waited until the very *last* possible second to decide to drive all 1,100+ miles down here with our TI and Revo.
