Just for curiosity, How big are these manmade lakes? Where do you go? Are there places to visit and stop off? |

All these lakes are long and skinny and Lake Havasu has a surface area of 19300 acres - i.e., fairly big. It’s very hot in the summer but real nice in the winter and gets a big annual migration of retired folks (which I hope to part of in a few years).. More pictures of this trip..

Havasu is an outstanding place for AI / TI !!! Weather can suddenly change only to become an e-ticket ride so have your skills down pat. I primarily sail Coastal So Cal but go to Havasu 2-4 times a year as I have since I was 12. I'm 50 now Yes I am twisted. That said, nothing is as fun as leaving leaving the ramp with no wind only to have it KICK in the afternoon heading back and stay up with or pass some powerboats. To date my fastest wind was 32 knots. That was flat scarey. I stay at Sandpoint or Cat Tail Cove. Walt will understand those names. Now I have to figure out how to actually post / link photos and vids on forum so they are not additional clicks to see |
