I've been looking for a local lake to sail at and was wondering about Elsinore. We ride our motorcycles on Ortega all the time and thought the lake might be good sailing. Is the wind very reliable? Did you launch from the public launch area? What kind of fees? Mussel check? Video makes it look very appealing. Thanks!

Hi motoenthusiast
I would recommend Lake Elsinore for sailing. Just checked the wind from weather.com and drove out there since it was supposed to be gusty. When i went there.... it was dead...no wind :? .... Still paddled the AI for 1.5hrs. At 3.00pm crosswind from the mountains started blowing. It was greeeeat.
I launched from "Lake Elsinore Marina & RV Resort". $20.00 for all day.
I will go back for sure. 60miles from where I live, still worth the 3 hrs of lake sailing. I also sail from Newport, Long beach & Dana Point harbors.

Next would be Big Bear Lake and Lake Cachuma
