We used the smaller wedge in the package and it provided a bit of the desired angle for easier un-cleating. Also had to use longer screws than the original ones, and had to cut them down in order not to jam them into the aka. Test drove it in light winds, seemed to work well. The real test will be in heavy air. Big storm on its way now so winds should pick up soon for a fast sail before the lightening gets here. Then it's hurry back to the dock and off the water! If the smaller wedge doesn't completely do it, you can use the larger wedge but cut it down to your preferred angle. For jobs like that I usually use a belt sander for quick results. A little change in angle goes a long way in fixing the problem without creating a new problem. We await your big wind results.

And just a clarification, the extreme angle fairlead was originally added to improve sheeting while riding high and to the side, on Hakas. Love it. |
