Unforgettable day - Strong wind and high speed :)

Our work is related to managing one of the best hotels on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast. We take every opportunity to get into the sea with our loved boats.

Nice video. Great advertisement for "Why I need a Set of Hakas."

I thought tandems were supposed to be a dry ride--what goes here?

The rear seat in the TI is a "drier" ride, but still not "dry." All kayaks are going to be pretty wet rides.

Sounds as if you may have started riding your hakas, Chekika...
The TI is way drier a ride for the stern occupant than the AI, but not so much for the bow occupant.

Great bit of action Johnny. See we have 26 videos now in our 'Hobie Islander' group. It's good that now they can all be found in the one location.

Very nice video, Johnny. You have captured the wet and exciting ride on the TI on an beautiful breezy day. The last minute of the video with the 2 young kids sailing through the streets of Bulgaria is very cute. I had never given thought to this before... that the TI, with a couple of good wheel carts, can make a excellent go-cart.

With so much wind, why not take out the drives and just sail? I find the difference huge in sailing ability, etc.

Agreed. Removing the front drive should help the most.

The kids are too cute, Johnny. Their dad, at 1:30 looks like the "Lone Ranger". 8)

If you do pull the front drive, pop the cassette plug in. I sailed once without it and found that the open drive well created some weird handling characteristics as well as noticeably slowed the boat.

Agreed. For the most part, I like to just use the drive to "get out there" or when I need it, similar to an engine on a sailboat. I much prefer to sail with the drive out and the cassette plug in.
