This was our second trip on our new TI. Down the yarra river in the centre of Melbourne.
Awesome day for kayaking, 28 deg C with a light breeze and not many other boats - I guess most people were having BBQs and parties because the Spring Racing Carnival is on this weekend.
We put the boat in at the ramp at the rowing sheds. The ramp makes it really easy.
My "hoist" really came in handy this trip - because I have developed a sore shoulder which prevents me from lifting above my head. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=rJgO0_V74NQ

We stopped in the docklands for a bite to eat, a light beer and a coffee before the return.
There's a great public dock where you can tie up.

Total distance just over 10Km in 3 hours including the "coffee break".

Looks like a great trip, seeing Melbourne from a different angle.

Pretty city. We'll have to check out Batman Avenue on our next trip Down Undah. The spot where you turned around,..

If you venture over to Adelaide, give us a yell as we also have a great Port River.
Well it's sort of a River, now fed by a large pipe at West Lakes on high tide so salty and clear.
No I didn't mention the Yarra otherwise known as the upside down river.
A couple of the photos look blue so it must just be a rumour.

I suspect I have the same winch in my garage for my TI.
Now I just need one for the vehicle.

Cheers,
Brian in South Australia
