We finally did the deed and picked up our new adventure Island tandem last night. It was cold and rainy this morning but we couldn't wait to take it out so we drove up to Dunedin and did some sailing around Honey Moon Island State Park. Even with the light winds this boat was a blast. I can't wait to use it more. Here are a few pics from today.

That looks great... I had a revo for years fishing off it and heaps of fun. I have just purchased a TI for pick up this December I just can't wait to feel the first puff of wind hitting the sail... I'm like a kid awaiting new toy :D

That area is such a great place to sail and fish. Beautiful beaches, too. Enjoy!

Went and did some more sailing today. We checked out Clearwater harbor and some of the local spoil islands.

Wow! I can't believe you can use a rig set up like that legally on the roads. You would need to be really careful on tight corners I guess.

I wouldn't say its all that legal. I'm going to get a roof rack for the truck this Sunday.

You guys sail around some of our haunts! We have the darker red TI, so one day we'll probably run into you one day (figuratively, of course). Have you guys done Ft. DeSoto yet? We're there a lot. Twice in the last month, in fact. We've done Lake Tarpon a few times too. It's got a restaurant you can pull up to on the north side :-)

We haven't been down to Ft Desoto yet with the boat. We may try it over christmas break.

Sailed the adventure Island for the first time on freshwater. Nice to have rinse like crazy after a use! Checked out the Manatees on the crystal river. Next time I gotta bring an underwater camera.

Looks great! We went there too several months ago when invited by the Hobie group in that area. We went without amas and sail though. It sure was tight getting back into one of the viewing areas with all the zillion snorkelers and pontoon boats and such. Was it crowded on your trip?

No the weather was terrible so we had it to ourselves most of the time.

Decided to try the TI as a kayak so we loaded it up and brought it to the Chaz river springs for a little exploration. On the way to the river we stopped off and met another forum member and picked up a set of trampolines.

Florida, river, snorkeling? I'm from Michigan so clearly I'm ill informed but, Alligators?

Snorkeling in a river seems like craziness, no?

These are not your average river. These are rivers that are made from underground springs. The water is crystal clear and full of a mix of saltwater and freshwater fish. I've never had a problem with gators while swimming in the springs. They do most of thier hunting at night. I prefer swimming in the day.
