Post subject:  Mast Furler Slippage

I was wondering if anyone's had issues with their mast furler slipping from the mast. After pulling the downhaul through the eyelet and securing onto the cleat at the base of the sail, I tightened the line a bit and the entire furler cinched up towards the sail a couple of inches. It was clear the glue seal had broken, but the furler still remained tight enough to require a rubber mallet to tap it back in place. So far so good, but it seems I'm getting a bit of mast wobble. I'm thinking the natural bending of the mast might be causing the XBAR collar to push the furler upwards just enough.

Anyone know of a good glue/epoxy to maybe run a bead around the mast right above the furler to discourage upward slippage? Or maybe even a better solution? I live in the West Pacific and it looks like the tradewinds are returning after 6 months in the doldrums.

Yes, there are topics on this issue: http://www.hobiecat.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8017

Used the search function (upper right between FAQ and Members)... and a few key words.

Under the main forum area is a Topic "Help with Repairs".

2 part epoxy fixes this.
