Who's on the Chesapeake Bay with a Hobie Adventure or Tandem? I'm on the Wye River, ya'll stop on by. Also:

Who's upset that there's no place to kayak and camp on the bay?

Does anyone want to form a racing or cruising group on the Chesapeake?

Just spit balling here.

I live in Southern MD and have a Tandem Island. We usually go to Point Lookout State Park which is a peninsula with the Bay on one side and the mouth of the Potomac on the other. The good news is you can also camp there and there actually 2 or 3 sites that have water access sufficient to launch a TI. The down side is that these sites are also the most popular so have to reserve way in advance. If you go on weekdays you might get lucky though.

Here is a pic from last year. That is Lake Conoy which has an inlet to the river so it is nice and calm going in/out.

I'm right at the mouth of the Magothy River here in Annapolis, MD. Have an Adventure with a sail kit and a Getaway.

Forgot to add... I am all for forming a sailing and/or "paddling" group. I am definitely upset there's nowhere nearby to kayak/sail to and camp.

I'm an AI flyer here in Cambridge on the Choptank River.
Used it two weeks ago as a rescue kayak for our local Ironman race. Great platform for that. Kept my mast in line with the first long leg turn so swimmers could tell their direction better.

Had always wondered how many AIs and TIs there were around the area.

I'm on the upper Chesapeake Bay, sail mostly around Havre de Grace, Aberdeen Proving Ground and Elk Neck State Park.
Launch most of time from Perryville Park, they have free launch.

I am in Rock Hall Md, Kent County on the Eastern Shore of the bay, and I sail most weekends with my AI. Last weekend sailed down to the bay bridge. I'm planning a trip down the bay to the Nanticoke River and up the river to Seaford (roughly 100 miles) in August, trying to figure out the best way to overnight, with the lack of camping facilities.

Changed plans based on weather, instead of doing the trip down to the Nanticoke, we sailed from Rock Hall up to the Elk River, where we stopped when a thunderstorm rolled in. I definitely wish there was more opportunity for camping available!
