We recently braved the waters around Destin, Florida along with our first time out on the open water of the Gulf of Mexico in our Hobie Mirage Tandem Island. Here is a short 3 minute highlight video you will enjoy!

Apologies for being unsure how to post a video and image here. If the link doesn't work, search youtube for: Sailing Mothership It's the 3 minute highlight video.

Yes we are just getting use to the boat... was nice to be in my home town though MAN was it so much busier than when I was a kid(left in the late 90's). My previous boats were Hobie 16,21, Inter 20 etc. It is a compromise of speed to usability for me. I love the feeling of sitting on the water and the TI suits my wife and I well.

I have so many questions for this forum, but trying to get some pictures together first so I can ask with examples. We are also just starting to assess what mods we want (motor coming very soon if we can find one! Seems to be shortage.) and what gear we need (VHF or Nav maps / battery first?). I have been checking out your motor setup and the last trip really proved the point we needed it when we ran into upwind and against current return trip. Fifteen tacks and little progress... but we will share more in an upcoming video. hehe

But it is "all part of the show" as they say. The journey is for sure part of the excitement.
